Las Vegas may have dominated when it came to the top nightclubs of 2015, but New York City isn’t going down without a fight. NYC party spots filled Nightclub & Bar Media Group’s Top 100 highest-revenue generating slots, ranging from over-the-top multi-million dollar clubs to the local favorites. Alone, New York’s top five nightclubs raked in between $80-$105 million last year.
Lavo New York
Sister to Lavo Las Vegas, Lavo NY sits comfortably at the top of the NYC nightclub scene—number seven on the Top 100. The multi-level bar offers both dinner and dancing in a voyeuristic environment. Party the night away on the sunken dance floor surrounded by neon lights, LED screens, raised DJ booth and multiple bars. The club also boasts an exclusively-designed Martin Audio sound system to offer an immersive experience.
Marquee New York
Marquee Las Vegas hit one of the top three spots this year, but the NYC location wasn’t far behind at number 15. Playing host to some of the best DJs in the world, Marquee is the place to go when you’re looking for something just a bit more—risqué. With go-go pole dancers, glittering lights, and over-the-top costumes, this place feels more like an after-hours burlesque show, than just a place to go dancing with the girls. Penthouse at Dream Downtown
Penthouse at Dream Downtown, or the PHD Lounge, may be third in Manhattan and number 16 in the Top 100, but it tops the list as far as views are concerned. The rooftop lounge offers panoramic views of the city’s skyline from both indoors and on the garden terrace. They also have one foot in the fashion industry, as they invite DJs from Paris and London Fashion Week to play music every Saturday night. In addition to internationally-renowned DJs, PHD hosts sunset parties and dinners with an extensive Champagne selection.
Avenue New York
Swanky cocktail lounge by day and party spot by night, Avenue New York, number 31 in the Top 100, is a two-story, 3,100-square-foot venue in the middle of the Meatpacking District—a popular area for well-heeled city-goers and celebrities alike. Marc Jacobs, Kim Kardashian and Derek Jeter have all hosted private events here and it continues to be a star favorite. The club prides itself on its sophisticated décor, hiding a nightclub within its elegant interior. The first level features a dance floor and DJ booth, while the upper level houses a “social parlor” and private bar.
Webster’s Hall
Webster’s Hall, number 37 in the Top 100, is the nightclub for music lovers. Every evening there is a new DJ, band, house party or block party—this is not the place to mellow with your friends. In operation since 1886, the 40,000-square-foot, converted performance hall includes two floors, three stages and multiple bars in The Grand Ballroom, The Marlin Room and The Studio. With three venues all under one roof, Webster’s Hall can see thousands of visitors every night and they are well known for their Halloween bashes and New Year’s Eve Ball.
