Dwayne Wade, Miami HEAT NBA Champion, will be hosting a fashion fundraiser on September 26 at the famous Moore Building located in the city’s Design District. As an iconic location, the venue is expected to draw its typical large crowd of charitable locals to the fashion-inspired event.
The event entitled ‘A Night on the RUNWADE’ will benefit Wade’s World Foundation. Founded in 2003, Wade's World Foundation promotes the education of children focusing on initiatives of literacy, health and fatherhood. As Founder, Wade remains passionate about the foundation's motto "Every Child Deserves a Shot." He has made it a mission to support and promote the assistance of at-risk communities in Chicago, Milwaukee and the South Florida region — helping children overcome challenges and reach their maximum potential.
The NBA superstar will be hosting a catered cocktail reception which will naturally include a fashion show, as Wade is known for his own meticulously-styled wardrobe. The evening will be presented by the Swiss watch brand Hublot, of which Wade is a spokesperson. Neiman Marcus will be providing the apparel for the runway.
The venue, which was originally built in 1921 as the furniture showroom space for Moore and Sons, remains highly-sought after by Miami’s top event organizers; its distinctive four floors of arcaded spaces total more than 20,000 square feet. The stunning atrium accommodates nearly 5,000 people, making it a great location for Wade’s upcoming event. It is expected to in fans of both fashion and the HEAT.
Last year’s event was a huge success, attracting over 400 guests. Post dinner highlights included Jill Martin, Today Show’s fashion correspondent, who conducted a candid one-on-one Q&A session with Wade, honing in on his fashionista style. Notable guests included Alonzo Mourning, Gabrielle Union, Chris Bosh, Jonathan Cheban and James Jones.
Tickets for the event begin at $425 with all net proceeds going to the Wade’s World Foundation and local Miami community organizations. Levels range between Platinum, Gold, Silver and Individual with varying price points. Contact Kiley Lapointe for tickets.
