Things to See in Los Angeles: Los Angeles is unarguably a place where dreams are realized and stars are born. Whether in pursuit of fame, business, or simply an exciting vacation chocked full of entertainment, the star-studded streets of Los Angeles welcome thousands each year. Comprised of several diverse neighborhoods, The City of Angels offers something for everyone. With activities lurking around every corner, we thought we’d round up some of our favorite things to see in Los Angeles.
Hollywood & Highland
Located in the heart of tinseltown, Hollywood & Highland is both a major shopping and entertainment complex. Hollywood & Highland is home to some of the most popular city attractions, such as the legendary Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Kodak Theater, the world famous Mann’s Chinese Theater, and the ever trendy Lucky Strikes Lanes, which just so happens to offer a fabulous view of the famous Hollywood sign.
Universal City Walk
Universal City Walk offers a wide array of shopping, nightlife, dining, and entertainment options. As the sun sets, Universal City Walk comes alive, as swarms of eclectic street performers, as well as locals and tourists come out to play. Adjacent to Universal Studios, the area also features the Gibson Amphitheatre, an AMC Cinema, which often hosts movie premiers and red-carpet events, as well as the legendary Saddle Ranch, a local hotspot, complete with its own mechanical bull.
Rodeo Drive
Spanning just three blocks, Rodeo Drive is lined with more than 100 hotels and high-end boutiques. Located in the exclusive area of Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive is world famous for its high concentration of designer shopping. Just some of the luxury boutiques include Bottega Venetta, Fendi, Gucci, Prada, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. Since Rodeo Drive features only the best of the best, it is not uncommon to see a parade of luxury vehicles lining the street. In fact, Rodeo Drive even has its own Porsche dealership.
The Getty Villa Malibu
Until 1997, the Getty Villa Malibu was the original home of the art collection that is now housed in the J. Paul Getty Museum. After undergoing an extensive renovation, the Getty Villa now serves as an educational center and museum dedicated to the study of the arts and cultures of ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria. The Los Angeles landmark is as much of an attraction as the collection it houses and features a 225-long reflecting pool, botanical gardens, and weekend family programs.
Santa Monica Pier
Against a backdrop of crashing waves, the Santa Monica Pier is truly a pinnacle of Southern California living. With its own amusement park, aquarium, and plenty of dining options, the Santa Monica Pier offers something for the entire family. The scaled-down amusement park includes the Pacific Wheel Ferris Wheel, the West Coaster rollercoaster, bumper cars, the Playland Arcade, and more.
Next time you’re in Los Angeles, you’ll definitely want to add these five landmarks to your itinerary, but don’t forget to check out all the other things to see in Los Angeles.
