News & Trends: While there's always a chance of running into Beyoncé Knowles on the star-studded streets of Los Angeles, the chances of getting past her entourage for a photo-op are quite slim. Fortunately for the aspiring paparazzi in all of us, snapping a photo alongside your favorite star has never been easier now that Madame Tussauds has opened up shop in Hollywood.
After years of anticipation, Madame Tussauds Hollywood opened its doors on August 1, 2009. Built from the ground up, the $55 million attraction is located next to the world famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. Madame Tussauds Hollywood offers visitors three floors of entertainment with more than 100 wax figures and 18 themed zones. Each zone offers a unique experience designed to transcend guests into different silver screen genres such as Hollywood's golden era of cinema, westerns, modern classics, and behind-the-scenes.
Half of more than 100 lifelike wax figures were created exclusively for the new location, each costing approximately $300,000 to produce. Just some of the famous icons immortalized in wax include George Clooney; Beyoncé Knowles; President Barack Obama; Marilyn Monroe; Marlon Brando, Penélope Cruz; Jamie Foxx; Halle Berry; Clark Gable; Johnny Depp; Cameron Diaz; Justin Timberlake; Kobe Bryant; Hugh Jackman; Zac Efron and more.
With locations already in London, Amsterdam, Las Vegas, New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Washington D.C., and Berlin, it was only a matter of time before bringing the famed museum to the entertainment capital of the world.
