Some of the best things about our favorite celebrities are their ability to give back to those in need. During this year’s awards season, two new charity events will be taking place: Fame & Philanthropy and Unite 4 Humanity. With stars either participating in, or attending these events, it’s going to be quite the spectacle. And what makes it even better is they are there to support such great causes.
Fame & Philanthropy will take place on Oscar night at The Vineyard Beverly Hills with a black tie event, a dinner menu designed by a celebrity chef, music by DJ team the Stafford Brothers, a live auction and after-party. Director James Cameron will be the keynote speaker at the event, looking to provide funding for the non-profit CITY (Community Inspiring Today’s Youth), which dedicates itself to mentoring, educating and training youth, and includes classes like a 46-week entrepreneurship program.
The theme of the event, Believe In The Common Good, is meant to focus on the shared responsibility of people to local communities and future generations. Fame & Philanthropy hopes to bring together people of influence from “business, entertainment, politics, and philanthropy to bring consciousness to these topics.” Charlize Theron will also be in attendance to show support from her foundation, the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project. If you can secure an invite, tickets for this event are still available and are priced from $1,750-$100,000.
On February 27, Unite 4 Humanity will take place at the Sony Studios lot in Los Angeles, and will focus on the promotion of philanthropy worldwide. The night will include special guest, former President Bill Clinton, who will be recognized for his charity work with the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Foundation. The foundation will also be presenting awards to local heroes, musicians, and media for promoting change within their communities and around the world. There is a pre-party and photo opportunity available with the Clintons, as well as an after party with music by Will.i.am and other entertainers. Also an invite-only event, tickets are still available and range from $550-$500,000.
