The Abbey Food and Bar on Robertson, is a West Hollywood staple—bumping and grooving with LA's LGBT community since 1991. A club with such cred proved the perfect locale for the recent promotion of Absolut Tune. The premier vodka producer we are all familiar with now takes a novel step, infusing Absolut Vodka with sparking Sauvignon Blanc. Blending the bold energy of the vodka with floral and fruity wine creates a clean finish and a new label, Tune.
Absolut showcased Tune in several styles of cocktails concocted by the Abbey’s mixologists during a private party hosted by socialite Brittany Gastineau and attended by former Pussycat doll Jessica Sutta, Bravo star Tamra Barney and singer Luciana. To both mixed beats and vocals by the multi-talented DJ/actress/singer, Taryn Manning, we raised glasses of the citrusy Tune Martini (Absolut Tune and Absolut Citron with a twist) and the sweeter tasting Naughty Bellini (Absolut Tune and Absolut Peach garnished with peach puree).
But we especially enjoyed Absolute Tune straight with only a twist of lemon to subtly balance the sweetness of the wine. Passed hors d’oeuvres including a tasty tuna tartar topped crispy rice and a roaring fire complimented a night of bubbly beats, people and drink that led into The Abbey's popular Thursday night, “Guys Gone Wild.”
