Concerts in London: To add a dash of pizzazz to the final days of summer in the city, award-winning vocalist Georgia Mancio is presenting a season of jazz.
With a decade of experience under her belt, the Anglo-Latino singer has already established herself as an important new artist.
Now, having performed with the likes of Bobby McFerrin, Sheila Jordan and David Linx, Georgia will be hosting five nights of music at the renowned Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho.
On Thursday 23 September, Norway’s most unique jazz vocalist, Karin Krog, will be singing standards, blues and new material.
On Friday 24 and Saturday 25 September, Massachusetts-born vocalist and educator, Rebecca Parris, who has worked with some of the greatest legends of jazz including Dizzy Gillespie, returns to the Pizza Express after a 15-year absence for two very special nights.
And, on the final evening, Belgian singer, composer and lyricist, David Linx, will be performing with award-winning Dutch pianist, composer and arranger, Diederik Wissels.
Speaking about Rebecca Paris, Georgia, who will perform support slots with guitarists, said: ‘She isn’t as well known as the others, but I heard her years ago when I was working at Ronnie’s [Scott’s Jazz Club] and she hasn’t been back since.
"She is really special so I hope this raises her profile in this country."
