London Shopping: Louis Vuitton has a long history with the city of London and is paying homage to the old city by opening a new house on luxurious New Bond Street.
After opening his first shop in Paris, Louis Vuitton then honored the city of London with his second location. Over a century later, the tie between the French fashion house and London remains strong, with Louis Vuitton announcing the opening of the New Bond Street Maison, only the second in Europe.
Architect Peter Marino calls the New Bond Street Maison, "the most luxurious Louis Vuitton store to date." Indeed, the double building extends over half a block and contains an entryway bridge as well as a glass staircase with 23 square meters of glass tread surface which includes LEDs to show frequently-changing film and artistic animations.
The ground floor is filled with accessories and contains two areas for special collections, those made of precious or exotic materials. Elsewhere in the spacious store are jewelry, LV signature travel accessories as well as men's and women's clothing, each in a luxuriously designed space that showcases the best of the favorite brand.
The second floor is known as the apartment and is reachable by invite only. Once there, furniture and artwork are showcased to the best of the brand.
Since opening, the New Bond Street Maison has become a favorite stop for well-heeled Londoners and travelers alike.
