When it comes to brows, Sophia Brows unquestionably has the Midas touch. Appointments with Sophia are, quite literally like gold dust: she operates a strict by invitation-only client roster, and even if you manage to score a coveted place on her waiting list, securing a much sought-after appointment is no mean feat: her diary opens once a month, and her clientele of international models, celebrities and royalty scramble to snap up a prized appointment. Sophia offers a plethora of brow-related services, including but not limited to her famous bespoke shape and tint (my experience of which may be viewed here), brow lamination, LVL lash lifts and henna brows.
Sophia also offers an exclusive treatment, SB’s DIAMOND EYES, which she has offered in the elegant environs of The Londoner Hotel in the heart of London’s iconic Leicester Square. The treatment incorporates a suite of approaches designed to relieve and revitalize the entire eye area. It has been carefully tailored to ameliorate the appearance of the delicate skin surrounding the eyes in order to improve the skin’s suppleness and elasticity, and therefore impart a more youthful look. It also draws on Sophia’s multi-talented strengths - as a trained masseuse, it makes the most of her finely-honed massage techniques.
Intrigued, and desperately in need of some revitalisation in the throes of Christmas party season, I arrived for my DIAMOND EYES appointment one crisp morning in December, and found myself being ushered upstairs to the gorgeous Capital Suite at The Londoner where I was warmly greeted by Sophia and offered a chilled glass of Dellavite Prosecco: a delightful start to the treatment!
After reclining on a luxurious massage table, Sophia began the treatment with a sublime head and neck massage. The massage focus then gradually narrowed down to the face, centering on my sinus and eye socket area. Sophia’s signature eye sculpting massage is carried out using LYMA Oxygen Glide - a treatment that Sophia declares is an ‘oxygen facial in a bottle’. After the heavenly massage came the star of the show: the award-winning LYMA laser. I was a little apprehensive about this element of the treatment, having never had laser treatment on my face before. I was pleasantly surprised: there was no discomfort whatsoever. On the contrary, I found the laser element almost as enjoyable as the massage. Sophia held the LYMA laser on the inescapable ‘elevens’ (the vertical lines between the brows that often furrow when we frown) before gliding the LYMA laser around the orbital bones, targeting all of the skin around my eye area. The laser has many attendant benefits, such as helping to allay the appearance of sagging skin, and reducing acne and hyperpigmentation.
After the laser, Sophia applied the gorgeously cooling and refreshing Bioeffect Imprinting Eye Mask to the skin underneath my eyes. The Mask helps enormously to alleviate bags and dark circles: a much-appreciated treatment, especially at this frenetically-paced time of year. Following the eye masks, Sophia applied Bioeffect eye serum. She proceeded to thread, pluck, and tint my brows to perfection with her bespoke shape and tint treatment. The results of the shape and tint are always astounding: Sophia is a true artist, and has an almost instinctive ability to sculpt and create symmetry in any pair of brows she is presented with.
After gingerly removing the mask, Sophia handed me the mirror. The results of the treatment were truly eye-opening (pun very much intended). The skin surrounding my eyes was visibly smoother, firmer and better hydrated. My brows framed my eyes in a way that seemed to make them sparkle. I was astonished by the transformation that had taken place within the previous hour. Sophia warmly hugged me goodbye, offering more Prosecco, and pressing a complimentary gift (Mauli Rituals brow oil) into my hand as I left, urging me to use it nightly to help create the healthiest, most voluminous brows.
This was the most pampering treatment, and I received a number of comments in the days afterward from friends remarking about how well I looked. I put it down wholly to this remarkable treatment. If you are lucky enough to secure an appointment with Sophia, I urge you to experience the sheer magical indulgence of DIAMOND EYES for yourself: it is truly the pinnacle of indulgence for your eyes.
