Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts may dominate Google results when “Notting Hill” is searched, but let’s not forget how fantastic this cosmopolitan district in London is. The area is full of Victorian townhouses, retail therapy, restaurants, an annual Carnival festival, and very soon—August 15, in fact—its newest hotel will be opening its doors.
Named The Laslett Notting Hill, the cute little 51-room townhouse hotel seems to have perfected the sweet spot between staying at a luxury hotel and booking an Airbnb. Designed to feel like you’re staying in a stylish friend’s home, each guestroom comes with a bar carrying full-sized bottles and snacks, Penguin Classic books, and products from Neal’s Yard Remedies. As adorable as the rooms are, The Laslett plans on really making good on their pledge to make you feel at home.
The hotel’s lobby is a far cry from what many would expect, offering a warm library full of British art and novels, as well as curated artwork on the walls and a little shop showcasing their “collaborations with designers and artists.” For food, you’ll want to check out The Henderson Bar & Coffee Shop, which was named after Russell Henderson, one of the Carnival’s founding fathers. Serving traditional British cuisine, the expansive menu will evolve from breakfast to late-night cocktails.
Online reservations are now open for dates after August 15. Rates start at around $244 for weekdays and go up to around $400 for weekends.
