The brand new all-suite Delano Las Vegas, an outpost of the legendary Miami luxury resort, is set to open on September 1 in place of what had been THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. A partnership between Mandalay parent MGM Resorts International and Morgans Hotel Group, it represents the first extension of the Delano brand.
The Alain Ducasse restaurant, sited on the hotel’s top floor with sweeping views of Sin City will be called Rivea and is set to open this winter. It will be the famed French chef’s only restaurant in Las Vegas and one of only three in the U.S. The lobby café will be designed as a “historic farmhouse meets urban kitchen” serving breakfast and lunch with a menu focusing around fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The cocktail lounge, called Franklin, will feature masterful mixology and live music on some nights in a nod to the original Delano’s FDR lounge.
The sleek lobby will also house a cool coffee bar, sophisticated lounge and urban café concept. Featuring 1,000 guest suites on 43 stories, the accommodations will be designed in an updated version of the Delano’s famous super-chic beach style. In 2015, the Delano Beach Club will open with a private pool steps away from Mandalay Bay Beach and Wave Pool, complete with surf and pure white sand.
