Macau is no stranger to glitz and glamour, and with the introduction of a The 13 hotel created by Chinese billionaire Stephen Hung, that reputation for extravagance isn’t going anywhere soon. Said to have cost investors $1.4 billion, the 200-villa property will open later this summer.
The Baroque-style property is not only opulent, it is also home to suites that boast up to 30,000 square feet of space. Spending around $7 million on each villa, you can pretty much guarantee that they will be stunning. "This was a labor of love,” Hung said in a statement. “The team and I put every ounce of creativity and passion we had into this project to ensure every detail was perfect. Our guests, I believe, will find the result truly remarkable and beyond anything they have previously experienced."
Even the entry level suites are pretty cool. The one-bedroom Villa du Comte is entered through a private elevator and includes a living room, neoclassical furniture, Roman bath, fireplaces, a crystal chandelier and vaulted ceilings. Amenities for all travelers include 24-hour butler service, a fleet of custom Rolls-Royce Phantoms to chauffeur guests and L’Ambroisie, a second location of the three-Michelin star Paris restaurant. There will also be an invitation-only L’Atelier for purchasing bespoke and limited-edition products from luxury brands.
