As the Tall Ships prepare to sail into Boston this year to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, Entertainment Cruises has prepared a weeklong list of festivities aboard both the Odyssey and Spirit of Boston.
“We are starting the first event with a Star Spangled brunch aboard the Odyssey and a lunch on the Spirit of Boston on June 30,” said Kelley Yelle, general manager of Entertainment Cruises for Boston. “Guests can come in early and view the Tall Ships. The cruises are from 9 a.m. to noon and the Odyssey will feature an all-you-can-eat buffet, chocolate fountain and dessert station along with live entertainment. There will also be a narration to discuss the ships as well.”
To prepare for this year’s events, Entertainment Cruises has added a brand new patio on the Spirit of Boston with lounge chairs so you can sit outside and inside and take in the view from the panorama windows.
The weeklong celebration of festivities leads up to their biggest cruise (which is sure to sell out) on the Fourth of July where you can watch the USS Constitution turnaround and a fly over salute by the Blue Angels and 50 additional aircraft. The cruise allows you the opportunity to take in an up-close and personal view to checking out these historic ships on the bicentennial of the Star Spangled Banner. “For the week of the 4th, the Tall Ships and Navy ships will be in town that week so it’s really going to be something special to see,” Yelle added.
Entertainment Cruises runs both the Odyssey and Spirit of Boston year-round offering dinner and lunch cruises aboard both vessels. “If you aren’t around for the Tall Ships the week of the 4th, there are a lot of opportunities year round to book a cruise aboard either boat,” Yelle noted. “We do a lot of group cruises, weddings, corporate events, conventions, school groups and also host special events like birthday parties and Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and other special cruises.” For more information, visit EntertainmentCruises.com.
