Los Angeles Luxury City Guide: Like much of Southern California, Spanish settlers founded Los Angeles and that heritage can be seen in everything from the names of streets to the Spanish Revival style houses that are scattered throughout the city.

Los Angeles is a geographically diverse city, known for the ability of visitors and natives alike to ski in the mountains and surf at the world famous beaches, all in the same sunny day.

In addition to its Spanish heritage, and differing population, L.A. has a long history with the film industry. Because it provides so many celebrities with the latest and greatest in luxury shops, hotels and services, it also is on the cutting edge of luxury for the entire world.

City Scene:
As stars abound throughout L.A., hip areas fade away and are revitalized, and some neighborhoods never relinquish their grasp on the life of luxury.

One of the most notorious luxury neighborhoods in the world is located in the heart of the city. Although Beverly Hills only takes up only a small corner of Los Angeles, it manages to pack a lot into the small space. This includes Rodeo Drive, the epicenter of luxury fashion for the entire world, with world class shops like Bottega Veneta, Bvlagari, Chanel and others. Stay at the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel and dine at some of the best restaurants in the world, like CUT and The Belvedere.

The Hollywood Hills are another favorite luxury neighborhood. Located just above the famous Sunset Strip. Home to all kinds of entertainment, the Hollywood Hills provides each unique home with unparalleled views of the entire city. Stars often come down to the strip to catch a show at one of the nightclubs, like the House of Blues, see and be seen at Hyde Lounge or dine at a celebrity-chef owned restaurant like Gordon Ramsay's newly opened Gordon Ramsay at The London West Hollywood. Also in Hollywood is the Hollywood & Highland shopping center and Dolby Theater.

Must Sees & Do's:
In the entertainment capital of world, there is always something to do and somewhere to go. Just next to the Hollywood & Highland Center is Grauman's Chinese Theatre on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with its courtyard filled with cement blocks of celebrity hand and footprints. See how you measure up, and then take a photo with some of the residents of the area that dress up in costumes of iconic movie characters, from Superman to Marilyn Monroe. Make your way across the street to have a cocktail in the bar at the star-studded Roosevelt Hotel and catch a taping of a late-late show just down the street, next to the Disney-owned El Capitan Theatre.

Slightly on the outskirts of the city, Universal CityWalk provides visitors with larger-than-life theme restaurants, a huge movie theatre complex with an IMAX screen, as well as shopping. Located just next to the Universal Studios theme park in Studio City, CityWalk is a perfect way to end a day after viewing the Universal Studios lot tour and rides.

Again, just outside of L.A., Disneyland makes Anaheim the "happiest place on Earth." A whole weekend can be spent exploring both the Disneyland and California Adventura theme parks. There are also elegant shops and eateries just outside the park gates at Downtown Disney.

Wining and Dining:
With so many celebrity and celebrity-chef owned options, it’s hard to find a restaurant in the City of Angels that doesn't cater to a luxury clientele.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay's restaurant at the London West Hollywood offers delectable dishes and a wine list with over 300 choices. For food that pays tribute to the city's Latin roots, try Beso Hollywood. Owned by actress Eva Longoria-Parker, Beso puts a Latin twist on classic steakhouse fare. The bar also provides some lively entertainment as you can stargaze while trying some of the world's most exclusive tequilas.

If you prefer to dine while enjoying views of the Pacific Ocean, head to Nobu Malibu where the sushi chefs are always serving up something fresh and creative and the ocean is mere feet away. Malibu is a favorite celebrity hangout, just outside the city and offers some of California's best seafood and view combinations.

To experience some of L.A.'s famous nightlife, head to one of Sam Nazarian's club creations, Hyde or Katsuya. Sip on creative cocktails if you're lucky enough to slip past the red rope and dance the night away.

For the VIP:
While in LA, live like a star and enjoy some of the services as Hollywood's elite members.

Because driving in the city is de rigueur, rent a car from Beverly Hills Rent-a-Car. Choose from some of the most high-end models from luxury brands like Mercedes, Jaguar, Range Rover, BMW, Porsche, Cadillac, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Ferrari and more.

Or, instead of spending the day on the road, head out on the great blue waves of the Pacific Ocean in a yacht from Charter Yacht of Newport Beach and experience an event to remember.
