Carrasco International Airport (MVD)
Location: The airport is situated 11 miles (18km) to the east of
central Montevideo in the suburb of Carrasco.
Time: GMT Â?3 (GMT Â?2 during daylight saving
time).
Contacts:
Transfer City: Buses and metered taxis run by various companies are available
for the trip into Montevideo, which takes around half an hour.
Commuters should have Uruguayan Pesos for the fare and some tickets
can be bought prior to travel from the arrivals hall.
Car Rental: Avis, Europcar and Hertz car rental companies are represented at
the airport.

Airport Facilities: The airport, which is privately run, has recently undergone a
major refurbishment with the building of a new terminal and
substantial upgrade of existing facilities which include a duty
free shop, a few coffee bars and cafeterias, a McDonald's, a branch
of HSBC bank, and a currency exchange agency (cambio).
Departure Tax: An embarkation tax of US$31 is payable on
