The Ascot Mall on the corner of Ascot Way and Leopold Takawira Street is considered a good general shopping centre, while the modern Bulawayo Centre has more fashionable branded clothing stores and a cinema. Shopping for curios, jewellery, artworks, textiles and sculptures is a popular pastime for tourists in Zimbabwe. For established stores, try Induna Arts, the National Gallery''s souvenir and art shop, or the Tendele Curio Shop. There are also numerous street-side hawkers and markets where you''re more likely to find a bargain. Haggling at informal markets is common, if not expected, but remember that many hawkers are very poor and rely on curio sales for their livelihood.
