It’s time to start your engines for the first major North American auto show of the season. The Los Angeles Auto Show is speeding around the corner toward its busy schedule of unveilings, vintage collections and concept cars on November 20-29. This year, the LA Convention Center floor will be packed with debuts from nearly all of the major marques, including Alfa Romeo, BMW, Bentley, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Rolls-Royce.
In total, there will be more than 30 world debuts and 50 vehicle unveilings. Infiniti will present its global reveal of its all-new QX30 crossover, while Jaguar will surprise the crowd with an up-close look at their first luxury SUV, the F-PACE. Plus, four new BMW’s will make their North American debut: the all-new eDrive BMW 330e (a plug-in hybrid), the BMW M4 GTS, BMW X1 and the BMW 7 Series. Additional world premieres include Kia’s next-generation Sportage, Mitsubishi’s 2017 Mirage and Hyundai’s all-new Elantra.
Sideshows include the 3rd Annual Car Connected Expo on November 17, when CCE unites automotive and technology pros with key industry players and media. Vintage car lovers will lust over the displays of over 50 important and influential historic models at its annual MPG Motoring Invitational on November 18 at Gilbert Lindsay Plaza. Ticketholders will also have the opportunity to get behind the wheel to test drive nearly 100 of the latest models on display.
Before opening its doors to the public, the annual Preview Party on November 19 will showcase the year’s biggest debuts while guests enjoy entertainment and cocktails to raise funds for the GRAMMY Museum’s music education programs. An All-Access Pass costs $275 and includes hors d’oeuvres, drinks and VIP access to the Preview Party Club Room. General admission costs around $12 for adults.
For the first time ever, custom tours with behind-the-scenes access are available for groups of 20 or more. Tour package perks include early entry, special dining experiences, entertainment and souvenir swag. For true insider access, book “The Impossible,” which offers a secret look into the show’s fortressed Press & Trade Days on November 17-18. On November 21, 90-minute tours are being scheduled for the car nut who wants it all, and the Bentley Motors-sponsored AficionAuto Pass gives unlimited show admission November 20-29 and is available for $85.
