Jaguar set a new Guinness World Record for the largest “loop-the-loop” with their F-PACE yesterday, just one day before the family sports car’s global debut at the Frankfurt International Auto Show. The 360-degree loop was driven by British stunt driver Terry Grant, who Jaguar says “undertook two months of intense physical and dietary training to ensure his body was prepared for the 6.5 G-Force, which is greater than the forces experienced by space shuttle pilots.” Naturally, while Terry was training, there was an entire team of engineers, mathematicians and safety experts on hand to make sure the speeds, physics and angles of the stunt were all perfect.
To celebrate the Frankfurt launch and world record, Jaguar is offering a special First Edition F-PACE that will be available in limited numbers. Though they haven’t released the price or release date, Jaguar has assured that they will be powered “by the 380PS supercharged V6 petrol and 300PS V6 diesel engines” and will come in two metallic colors (Caesium Blue and Halcyon Gold).
