Benefiting from the latest updates applied to the Continental GT coupe and convertible, the new Flying Spur sets itself apart as the luxury sedan of choice for those with the means. Bentley has imbued the latest Flying Spur with a revised shape that is noticeably more elegant than the Continental Flying Spur it replaces, particularly in the more organic roof line.
Under the hood, Bentley has fitted the Flying Spur with the same 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W-12 engine as the Continental GT Speed, delivering 616 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Even with 5,451 pounds of luxury, the Spur still hustles to 60 in 4.3 seconds, to 100 mph in less than 10, and reaches a top speed quoted at 200 miles per hour. Further engine options, including Bentley's new 500-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, are expected to follow.

Although the new Flying Spur is capable of traveling at a rapid pace, Bentley has not geared it exclusively towards performance. Listening to customer feedback, the British automaker has fitted its new sedan with more compliant tires and a softer suspension to make for a more comfortable ride. The differences will be felt inside a suitably luxurious cabin available in four- or five-seat configurations of the buyer's choice. In redesigning the Flying Spur, Bentley has replaced 600 of the interior components, carrying over only a few parts from the outgoing model. Driver and passenger alike are treated to heated and ventilated seats. The wood-veneer dashboard alone is cured for 72 hours, and can be selected from seven different wood finishes. The interior is further augmented with the latest technological enhancements, including a 64-gigabyte media drive, on-board wi-fi, an eight-inch dashboard touchscreen, a pair of ten-inch screens in the seat-backs, and a touchscreen remote to control the climate and entertainment systems from the back, to name just a few of the features.

Buyers fortunate enough will also be able to choose from 17 standard or 100 optional exterior color choices and a full range of customization options that are included in the Mulliner Driving Specification. The many choices will help each buyer further distinguish his or her Flying Spur from the others on the road, as the ultimate luxury sedan is sure to become every bit the favorite among a certain class of clientele, just as its predecessor has been since its introduction in 2005.
