When you order yours online, you select between the fine leathers, metal accents and suede interiors of your choice—then add your own monogram as the only logo. A tempting array of color options is available, and the more adventurous might opt for a bold combination of contrasting hues or even white on white. We’d side with Audrey and Clark on this one, and keep with classic earth tones like light brown on dark for the leather and mahogany for the trim. The W1 Suitcase comes from the mind of its Danish founder Michael Wilkens and Barcelona-based designer Mauro Bianucci, and is handcrafted by Bespoke Luggage in Montana. Wilkens is using a niche-funding model to move into production: the first 200 to purchase gain patron status—and a share of future sales—in addition to their unique carry-on.
