Onboard another luxury cruise line, Cunard has partnered with Michelin star Chef Michel Roux, owner of the two Michelin-starred restaurant Le Gavroche in London. Together they are partnering with the Norwegian Seafood Council to bring an exclusive Le Gavroche dining experience onboard Queen Mary 2 and Cunard's newest ship Queen Anne in 2024.
After closing his London restaurant on January 13, 2024, he is now focused on Le Gavroche at The Verandah aboard Cunard's flagship Queen Mary 2 for her sailing to Hardangerfjord on June 2, 2024.
The chef will celebrate a five-night residency that is curated for up to 60 diners each evening. Chef Michel will be showcasing a beautiful variety of his signature seafood specialties and elevated culinary classics through a five-course tasting menu. Courses will offer an infusion of flavors from the sea, that are elegantly presented with the very best produce.
Accomplished Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto features a special elevated dining experience for passengers onboard Holland America Line.
Morimoto is the cruise line's 'Fish Ambassador' for the cruise line's first-of-its-kind Global Fresh Fish program, offering more than 80 varieties of fresh fish sourced locally from across the world.
Holland America Line's Nieuw Amsterdam opened the first stand-alone restaurant at sea for Chef Morimoto. Morimoto By Sea is located adjacent to the Tamarind restaurant on the Observation Deck.
This esteemed chef's creations are also highlighted on menus in every Holland America Line ship. Signature dishes include Fresh Halibut XO served with Asian vegetables and dried shrimp and scallop XO sauce. Other exciting menu items include Morimoto Epice Lobster Tails with seasonal vegetables and lemon foam, and Fresh Black Cod Yuzu with yogurt miso and pickled vegetables.
Morimoto By Sea is a pop-up culinary experience on 10 of the fleets ships. Diners will experience the menu at the Pinnacle Grill or Tamarind dining venue. Menu items across are sourced globally from a network of 60 ports to serve 80 different types of fresh fish onboard to prepare sushi plates with nigiri salmon, hamachi, maki with ebi tempura and Dungeness California salmon shikai maki. Main courses include Angry Lobster Pad Thai, Shrimp Three Ways 'Morimoto Style' and Japanese vegetable curry.
Other menu items include tempura calamari salad with white miso dressing, hamaci tacos, sticky ribs and Morimoto fresh tuna pizza. Passengers can make a reservation on Holland America Line's Navigator App or when they are onboard the ship. The restaurant does have a $55 per person cover charge and an additional 18% gratuity.
Chef Morimoto also will feature his exclusive alcoholic beverages by the glass or bottle. Start a meal with a flute of Morimoto Dream Brut Rose', or his Morimoto Grgich Hills Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. He also offers four different sakes including Sake Junmai Daiginjo Morimoto Sake Sparkling Nigori.
