Jewelry & Watches: The flyback chronograph P6920 Rattrapante Limited Edition from Porsche Design was the recipient this year of the international red dot Award Product Design for the watches and jewelry category.
This red dot seal recognizes high design quality. This mechanical flyback chronograph is available in a limited series of 200 watches in the titanium version. In a release, Patrick Schwarz, CEO the Swiss watchmaking company Eterna SA, the licensee for the production and sale of Porsche Design watches, said that this chronograph combines venerable Swiss watchmaking with the purist Porsche design "in an exceptional way." He added that the watch's split-second mechanism is a complicated function. With this chronometer, the user is enabled to precisely measure and display intermediate times as often as necessary.
The Rattrapante has a 45 mm casing made of titanium; it is lightweight and is resistant to corrosion metal. The casing has a black surface courtesy of PVD technology, a vacuum-based process that causes a matt black layer of metal nitrides to condense, protecting the watch from external factors. The sapphire glass back provides a view of the Valjoux 7750 automatic mechanism with Porsche Design rotor system. Furthermore, the buyer of the flyback chronograph gets a certificate of precision issued by the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC). It also offers a power reserve of 48 hours.
