JeanRichard Revives Highlands Watch with Photographer Nick Brandt

JeanRichard, the high-end Swiss watch brand that dates back to 1681, has over 300 years of horological history to draw from. For its latest creation however, the timepiece titan decided to revive the Highlands, a renowned model from the mid-1990s which was created to celebrate "the quintessence of nature."

Originally paired with photographs by Peter Beard, famed for his images of Africa, the Highlands captured a true spirit of adventure. This time around JeanRichard is collaborating with Nick Brandt, a music video director-turned-photographer who has created many celebrated images of African wildlife.

The Highlands Big Life limited edition was created in support of the Big Life Foundation, a wildlife preservation foundation founded by Brandt in 2010. The timepiece features a PVD-coated case with a green outer rotating bezel for keeping track of a second time zone.

A striking symbol inspired by the foundation’s logo and one of Nick Brandt’s most iconic photos, an elephant transfer appears on the sapphire crystal case back through which the JR1000 automatic winding movement can be seen. There are also three other Highlands versions offered in a variety of colors. Visit JeanRichard.com to see more.
