Now, Ralph Lauren has aligned itself with an event so steeped in tradition, the brand has cemented itself in history. As a continuation of the company’s involvement in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Ralph Lauren has designed the official Opening Ceremony and Closing Ceremony Parade outfits for the U.S. Team.
For the games, Ralph Lauren has designed a line of authentic apparel, which celebrates the history of the Olympic Games, while taking inspiration from the Lake Placid Games of 1932. Traditionally, the clothes will sport the classic and patriotic palette of red, white and blue.
In addition to the official ceremony outfits, Ralph Lauren designed a unique collection of village wear apparel and accessories that will be given to the athletes. The entire collection of designs will be available to the public for purchase as well, welcoming Ralph Lauren fans to take part in the excitement of the Olympic Games.
But the brand goes one step further in the Ralph Lauren Olympic Collection. Customers are offered the opportunity to create their own Olympic Polo or choose a polo from their Flag Collection. Have your name embroidered on the front and back of the Official Polo Shirt of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games or support your team by choosing from dozens of flag choices in either the classic Big Pony Polo or a fleece hoodie.
Polo Ralph Lauren’s involvement with the 2010 Olympic Games marks an extension of the brand’s involvement in official sporting events. In addition to their work designing for the U.S. Olympic Teams, the company serves as the Official Apparel Sponsor for both Wimbledon and the U. S. Open. Polo Ralph Lauren also currently sponsors an elite roster of professional golfers as well as the Blackwatch Polo Team.
The brand has truly established itself as a representative of classic design, and now, a representative of the United States. All the pieces designed for the team will be available in Polo Ralph Lauren retail stores, select department stores, and on RalphLauren.com.
