Simple. Chic. Timeless. Elegance is de rigueur for most fashionable women, but sometimes it’s hard—especially with designer bags—to find accessories that aren’t dripping in labels, flashy colors or sparkling hardware. (We've seen Jeremy Scott's latest designs.) Thankfully Want Les Essentiels de la Vie is on hand to help us with this constant sartorial struggle. This season, the up-and-coming accessory label created a treasure trove of utilitarian handbags to perfectly complement our minimalist ensembles.
Co-founded by Byron and Dexter Peart, Want Les Essentiels de la Vie was made for fans of subtle luxury—and these guys know what women want from their handbags. On each purse you’ll find streamlined pouches for smartphones, easy-open magnetic pockets and easy-access zippers and pulls. The collection was designed to honor modern women (thank you, we deserve it!), and is all about “hands-free simplicity for the on-the-go woman.” It’s the little details in this refined collection that make it special.
Inspired by mid-century architecture and design, each piece in the collection looks effortless and almost unintentional. Coming in chic, subtle colors, and sensible (but stylish) variations, these pieces are handcrafted with Italian leather and made to last a lifetime. There are several new styles in this season's collection including the Mini Piper, an on-trend reimagining of the popular Piper backpack, the reversible Logan and Strauss totes (with a wild metallic side), and the cross-body City Bag.
The new collection also includes a line of scarves, hats, gloves and accessories for the upcoming season. Want Les Essentiels de la Vie is available online and priced from $265-$995.
