Oh my gosh, look at her butt. No seriously—Nicki Minaj is absolutely killing it in her latest role as the new body face of Roberto Cavalli’s Spring 2015 campaign. The Italian designer has tapped the Anaconda singer for the safari-inspired ads, and it looks like Minaj is stepping into the high-fashion role pretty gracefully. Once one of the most outlandish dressers in the business, she’s been embracing a more demure look as of late, and we have to admit these Cavalli images are proving she’s clearly comfortable in her new element. Posing in abstract floral and animal prints, the rapper is rocking a chic bob and relaxed fabrics, something we’re not used to seeing on the star.
“I chose Nicki Minaj because she embodies the exuberant and modern femininity of the Cavalli woman. In recent years we have become accustomed to women castigated in clothes that hide their body shapes. With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong counter trend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves, rather she make them as a strength,” Roberto Cavalli said of his choice to cast the 32-year old singer.
Shot in Los Angeles by Francesco Carrozzini, the images show Minaj in pieces from Roberto Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 2015 line, endorsing not only ready-to-wear, but eyewear and accessories as well. While we loved Calvalli’s Marilyn Monroe-inspired looks with Rita Ora this fall, we’re pretty sure this latest release is going to be one of our favorite campaigns this coming season.
