Fashion meets art in the latest quirky collaboration between designer Lisa Perry and pop artist Jeff Koons. Perry, who has previously presented capsule collections involving the work of Andy Warhol in 2010 and Lichtenstein of 2011, was eager to work with a living artist this time around.
She felt that Koons’ aesthetic and point of view were on par with her creative vision. Best known for her use of geometric, bold patterns, clean lines and vibrant colors, Perry has differentiated herself amongst designers in a short amount of time.
Regarding the collaboration with Koons, she said, “He gave us full access to his entire body of work. It was more inspiration than I could have ever dreamed of!” From there, Perry designed a whimsical and imaginative collection, evocative of both their work that pays tribute to Koons’ colorful career.
The collection will feature some of the artist’s most iconic works: Loopy, Rabbit, Monkeys, Monkey Train and Pink Panther. Handbags and jewelry start at $295 and T-shirts, dresses and jackets will retail for $150-$4,500. The collection will be available for purchase exclusively at the Lisa Perry Madison Avenue boutique and online at LisaPerryStyle.com.
A portion of the proceeds from the first week of collection sales will support the Koons Family Institute, an initiative of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
