Let’s be honest—most photo Christmas cards are awkward, gaudy and just a little bit cringe-worthy. Enter the royal family. Is there something in the water in England? This has got to be the most photogenic family we’ve ever seen. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released this holiday snap today on Instagram and it makes every other family portrait look like a sad imitation. Why even try?
The adorable photo was taken by Chris Jeff earlier this season and captures Kate holding onto 2 year old Prince George (who looks like he’s seconds away from doing something mischievous) and seven month old Princess Charlotte as William looking on adoringly. The fall foliage in the background and the matching blue ensembles don’t hurt the wow-factor either.
Snapped at Kensington Palace, the image was released with the caption “Merry Christmas from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The Duke and Duchess are hugely appreciative of all the warm messages they have received about their family this year and are very much looking forward to their first Christmas as a family of four.” Too cute.
