While not all women find the idea of running out in a bikini comforting, Australian plus-sized supermodel Robyn Lawley is creating a swimwear line, in the hopes that you will. The 24-year-old has graced the covers of Vogue Italia and Elle France and is breaking through barriers left and right, wanting to be a positive role model for women. Collaborating with Madison Plus Select, her new brand includes one-pieces and bikinis that originally started “from my own necessity and grew from there,” she told Refinery 29 in a recent interview. An avid swimmer and a size 12, the model was looking for something that would be fun and fashionable, something she saw was lacking in anything above a size 10. The collection ranges in colors with retro cuts and patterns that she’s gleaned from her world travel—or cuisine, “my dragon fruit one-piece was inspired by my love of food.” With no mom suits, tankinis, or black one-pieces in sight, the swimwear is flattering, stylish, and keeps everything in place. The pieces are made to accommodate and stretch, with adjustable straps, power mesh front panels, options of soft cups or underwire, and softer material around the legs to keep from cutting into curvy thighs, “Robyn highly requested this feature in design and therefore it runs throughout the entire collection of beautiful swimwear.” Madison Plus Select writes. Launching at the end of August, swimsuits are available for pre-order now; the collection currently ranges from size 8-18, but she may be adding more sizes in the future.
Robyn Lawley Swim is available exclusively online at Madison Plus Select and is priced from $140-$194.
