The Patriot Tour just wrapped up its visit to Boston earlier this month and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the VIP event. The evening included a meet-and-greet with former Navy SEALs Pete Scobell and David Goggins, US Army Ranger Regiment Chad Fleming, Taya Kyle (widow of American Sniper Chris Kyle and author of American Wife) and Marcus Luttrell, retired Navy SEAL and author of Lone Survivor, which was later made into a motion picture movie starring Mark Wahlberg.
The VIP hour allowed guests to have the opportunity to meet all of the tour members, get their photos taken with Marcus and Taya and leave with signed hardcover copies of both Lone Survivor and American Wife.
Throughout the near three-hour emotional performance, we listened to stories of strength, inspiration, perseverance, determination and the will to live. These tremendous patriots will have you laughing and crying and leave you feeling grateful for their personal service and sacrifice
We recently caught up with Luttrell to discuss his return to Boston and what the show is all about. “The Patriot Tour is a chance for all of us to talk about what we went through,” he said. “These people motivate me every day. Everyone on stage has something in common that they want to share.”
Now that he is retired, Luttrell looks forward to spending time with his wife and two young children. “I am enjoying life now watching the kids grow up and staying healthy,” he said. As for more writing in the future, he joked his next book will be entitled ‘If You Are Going To Date My Daughter, Read This.’
The nationwide tour continues through November 14. For more information, visit www.teamneverquit.com.
