Once in a while you come across a restaurant that stands out in the suburbs not only for its exceptional service but creative dishes that feature a little adventure. That’s just what you will find at SKY Restaurant in Norwood where dishes range from lettuce wraps with hoisin sauce to crispy apple braised pork belly tortillas with honey chili sauce.
There is a spacious bar area that offers comfortable seating in private booths and a separate spacious main dining room for quieter dining. We recently visited the restaurant and opted to sit in the bar area where we were quickly greeted by our friendly server. We recommend starting off with a hot and dirty martini or a spicy margarita to kick things off right.
The spicy chili spiced chicken skewers were a great starter served with a delicious Thai peanut sauce. Our server recommended we try the vegetable spring rolls and we were glad he did – the tasty golden rolls were served with a Ponzu glaze and orange chili sauce. The mini shrimp tacos should not be missed – four delicious petite tacos were filled with spiced up habanero marinated shrimp cooled down with mango salsa and chili lime vinaigrette.
A standout here is the certified Black Angus Tomahawk ribeye, a massive juicy cut cooked to our liking topped with buttermilk soaked onion strings. Be sure to try the loaded baked potato with bacon and cheese to complement the dish as well as the braised wild mushrooms.
Another favorite dish of ours is the chicken parmigiana, a generous portion of crispy chicken served atop cavatelli pasta topped with a garlicky red sauce.
