Recap of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa

If you missed the stunning styles from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa (which is highly likely as not many people even knew the event was taking place), you will probably want to know some of the highlights of the event and possibly be inspired to modify some of your own wardrobe choices.

 

It took more than 35 of Africa’s renowned designers 20 shows over four days to stage the biggest fashion event on the continent.

The 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Africa wrapped up on Saturday.

Organised by Africa Fashion International (AFI), the event was held for the first time on the streets of Melrose Arch, north of Joburg, and saw designers from South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Nigeria, Angola, Morocco, Ghana and others display their interpretations of trends for local and international media.

Haute couture designers David Tlale and Gavin Rajah were the local favourites, as they debuted their collections in South Africa, which they showcased at the recent New York Fashion Week. Read More
