Beverly Hills Offers Two Luxurious Holiday Afternoon Teas

Shaena Engle

The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and the London West Hollywood are both offering festive holiday afternoon teas.

Inspired by the LA Ballet performance of The Nutcracker, the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is offering a holiday afternoon tea experience now throughout December on weekends from noon to 4pm.

The hotel is stunning and even more beautiful with a huge lobby Christmas tree, festive decorations and a pretty gingerbread house display throughout the space. The inviting lounge offers cozy booth seating and intimate table seating by the fireplace and music by a live harpist.

There is a wide tea selection provided by Tealeaves, including their Chocolate Peppermint Truffle, Mad Hatter’s Ta Party, Wild Himalayan Mountain, Mountain Berry and Peach Fuzz varieties. We chose the Chocolate Peppermint Tea which was rich and creamy with a fresh winter peppermint flavor.

The presentation of sandwiches, scones and sweets is modern with two three-tiered wood and blue trays. The sandwiches are perfectly assembled and include an black truffle egg with truffles and egg salad; a roasted chicken sandwich with chicken breast, Gouda cheese and Brussel shaved onion mayonnaise; a smoked salmon sandwich with pickles, lemon and cream cheese; a French pound cake with pound cake, pickles, cream cheese and red peppers and a mini quiche with spinach and feta cheese.

Sweets are also decadent and delicious, including a vanilla macaroon, yuzu tart, chocolate coffee layer cake, chaux matcha, mandarin dome and raspberry cookies.

The Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills provides a peaceful, festive and beautiful setting for a perfect holiday afternoon tea, $110 for tea or $155 including champagne, located at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills 9850 Wilshire Boulevard, reservations at 310.860.6666.

The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills Hotel's Sugar Plum Fairy Afternoon Tea is a festive treat, served every Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 3:30pm.  Reservations for the Sugar Plum Afternoon Tea can be made via OpenTable.

The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills is located at 1020 N. San Vicente Boulevard.
