National Museum of the American Indian

The National Museum of the American Indian has three facilities, with the flagship hub being on Washington, D.C.'s National Mall. The building is a striking architectural feature, with a sandstone color and curvy shape that evokes a natural, wind-eroded rock formation, and is the result of consultation with designers from several American tribes.

On the interior, the museum features a large space under vaulted ceilings and surrounded by prism windows for the performances of tribal dances, and a myriad of exhibitions studying the life, language, literature, history and arts of Native Americans.
