Next year DC will welcome the world-famous sushi chain, Nobu, to its Rock Creek Park neighborhood. The restaurant is planned for a fall 2016 opening at 2501 M St. NW, inside an up-and-coming luxury condominium building. The Nobu brand, owned by Chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, actor Robert De Niro and former Hollywood producer Meir Teper, has over 30 international locations, and is considered one of the trendiest eateries in the world.
Covering 11,600 square feet, the ground-floor restaurant will house a cocktail bar, sushi bar, main dining room, two private dining rooms and two patios with views of the nearby park. PRP LLC, the owner of the building, is spending $93 million to convert the former American Association of Medical Colleges headquarters into 59 luxury condos, with $10 million of the total earmarked to build Nobu.
