Washington’s JW Marriott unveiled its new multi-million dollar makeover last week, which includes a new look for its 750 guestrooms and executive lounge. The new sophisticated look was brought forth by guest feedback, calling for an aesthetic that synced up with their cosmopolitan lifestyles.
"Guests asked for a refined yet, welcoming space for work and relaxation, and we have delivered that and more,” assures Satinder Palta, General Manager, JW Marriott Washington, DC. “Although we are making changes to our design aesthetic, our landmark location and the exceptional service that our guests have come to expect will not change.”
The new rooms were inspired by a “perfectly tailored suit,” with a smooth color palate of earthy browns, charcoal and pearl grey. Small pops of pink and chrome are meant to mimic that of a colorful pocket square and a stylish watch, while subtle paisley patterns stand in for a necktie. In terms of texture, guests will find leathers, tweed and herringbone. King bedrooms come with a love seat that can be transformed into a single bed if needed.
Finally, in the bathrooms, guests will find custom amenities from Aromatherapy Associates, illuminated mirrors and spa-like showers with a shave pedestal.
Rooms begin at around $299 per night.
