With over 80 restaurants already open, Carluccio’s offers authentic Italian food all throughout the UK and Middle East. They've finally decided to venture to America, with their very first US location coming soon to Old Town Alexandria. According to Alexandria’s tourism board, the new Carluccio’s will be found in a restored Italian-style building at 100 King Street and is set for a spring opening.
With house-made pastas in the restaurant, perfectly poured espresso in the café, and Italian olive oils in the market, this concept establishment should be a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Plus, the eatery will be run by DC-born Chef Alfio Celia, who will be working with the local farmers’ markets to source fresh produce. So next time you return home from Italy with a few new recipes in hand, Carluccio's will be your one-stop shop for those hard-to-find ingredients.
