With 340 acres of Virginia country side and vineyards as a backdrop, the Salamander luxury resort and spa is a beautiful destination scheduled to open in 2013. The resort, located in Middleburg Virginia, will be just a thirty minute drive from Washington D.C.’s Dulles International Airport and an hour from the capital. Nearly 65 percent done, the structure has been designed to complement its natural surroundings, drawing from Virginian, Southern architectural traditions.
The Salamander Resort and Spa will feature 168 rooms designed by Thomas Pheasant, as well as a 23,000 square foot spa, full-service equestrian center complete with 22-stall stable and practice ring. The dining concept will be a Virginia Piedmont-inspired cuisine led by James Beard nominated Chef Todd Gray. Resort guests will also have access to the Jack Nicklaus golf course located in Creighton Farms, nestled among Virginia’s emerging wine country.
Resort owner Sheila C. Johnson said, “I am delighted to finalize this opening timeline. This property has been my passion ever since I set foot on it nearly a decade ago. It is unmatched in ease of access and equestrian heritage, and it promises to be the finest new destination to open on the East Coast in many years.” The resort also features 12,000 square feet of business and event facilities as well as a 5,000 square-foot brand ballroom. It has been LEED certified for its energy efficient design.
The hotel is now accepting group booking despite its projected August 2013 opening date. To learn more visit SalamanderResort.com.
