Ever wanted to shake hands with Bill Clinton or stare eye to eye with Ronald Reagan? At Madame Tussauds Washington location you can step right up to any President in our country's history at a recently opened exhibit featuring all 44 U.S. Presidents in an interactive and educational showcase.
A tremendous undertaking, each figure took approximately three to four months to complete and required extensive research and meticulous attention to detail to make the figures as lifelike as possible.
The buzz about the gallery started last summer with figures of the Presidents popping up around the country to promote for the Gallery's opening on President's Day 2011. Sitings included President Gerald Ford at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum for the 97th anniversary of his birthday; founding fathers George Washington and Thomas Jefferson at the Independence Visitor Center in Philadelphia over the July 4th holiday; and most recently, Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln took a road trip to Mount Rushmore in honor of the 69th anniversary of the monument's completion.
If you're up to speed on your American history, Tussauds Washington is still worth the visit. Sports figures such as Tiger Woods and Babe Ruth are on hand and entertainers such as Marvin Gaye, Beyonce, Madonna and Rihanna appear to be breaking into song. The likeness of these figures is legendary but not until you see them up close can you truly appreciate the artistry and creativity that goes into every creation.
