Image from Global News Ricardo Cavolo and numerous other high profile writers are making their way to Montreal for an arts festival that will deck “The Main,” or Boulevard St. Lawrence, in a fine array of murals as part of a Mural Festival. The event is set to launch on June 13th and will last all weekend.
A new arts festival will bring together avant-garde local and international artists to create murals along a two-kilometre stretch of Saint-Laurent Boulevard in downtown Montreal, organizers said Tuesday.
The busy commercial street, known as The Main, will be closed to traffic between Sherbrooke Street and Mount Royal Avenue during the Mural Festival, which takes place June 13-16.
Nearly 20 murals will be created and will remain in place until the festival’s second edition, in 2014, when some will be painted over.
