 News Channel 5 Famous songwriter Willie Nelson was honored with the first ever Kris Kristofferson Award. The Nashville Songwriters Association created the award. Kris Kristofferson is one of the founders of the association and he said that he has always looked up to Willie as he is one of the first people he met when he arrived to Nashville.

Kris is one of the founding members of the Nashville Songwriters Association International. Kris said that Willie Nelson was one of the first people he met when he came to Nashville, and he always looked up to him.
