Surrounded by the Prague Castle complex, Saint Vitus Cathedral is the largest church in Czechoslovakia and is a Roman Catholic cathedral. With many highly interesting things to see in this destination, visitors could spend a significant amount of time wandering around this location taking in the rich history. There are numerous tombs of emperors and kings in Saint Vitus Cathedral to visit; however, the biggest draw of this Prague attraction is likely the beautiful Gothic architecture used to construct this beautiful building. Owned by the Czechoslovakian government, this cathedral is considered to be the most important church in the entire nation.
As part of a series of structures dedicated to Saint Vitus, this location was built and named after the saint because the Duke of Bohemia, in 925, had gotten ahold of a holy relic that happened to be the arm of Saint Vitus. While it took over 300 years to be founded, the cathedral maintained the Saint Vitus name and lives on as a monument to the religious history of Czechoslovakia.
