A medieval location right in the heart of Prague, the Old Town area contains quite a few noteworthy locations. The more popular of these sights include the Old Town Square, Old New Synagogue and the Astronomical Clock. This wonderful spot is brimming with history and has roots as far back as the 9th century. Though it was once surrounded by a moat and large defensive wall, the area is now easily accessed and provides visitors with a feeling of traveling back in Europe’s past through many old structures like houses, social locations and others.
The architecture is by far the star of this picturesque location, making a day or night out here an almost enchanting outing. With various local restaurants in operation as well as cafes, shops and historical points of interest, Prague’s Old Town district (Stare Mesto in Czechoslovakian) is one of the best tourist spots in the country.
