Over the next year, Four Seasons properties will be offering Taste of Place experiences for guests looking to immerse themselves in local culinary practices and traditions. The global initiative features a collection of comprehensive itineraries that will explore the area’s food vendors, farmers, butchers, distillers and mixologists.
Ranging from private tours of vineyards and regional breweries, to farm-to-bar mixology classes and deep sea fishing excursions the programs will provide foodies with unique and progressive dining experiences. A few of its highlighted itineraries include Desert Dining Under Sonoran Stars at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North, High Altitude Dining at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler and a Premium Cocktail Tour with Mexico’s #1 Mixologist at the Four Seasons Hotel Mexico, D.F.
Taking place in Whistler, the high-altitude experience includes a helicopter trip to the Pemberton Icecap to venture through its 12,000-year-old labyrinth of chambers. Using ice from the glacier, guests will have a chance to participate in a cocktail mixology class before heading back to the resort for a hosted dinner. In Ojai at Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, travelers can enjoy an Olive Oil Experience while learning about the history of olive oil production and how it started in California in the 1700. The affair continues with a four-course, olive-oil centric dinner at Ojai Olive Ranch and wine pairings from Malibu Coast vineyards.
Over in Hawaii, diners will get to check out A Taste of Island Life through Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. Beginning with a helicopter ride over rainforest peaks and a dormant volcano, guests will get a behind-the scenes tour to forage for fresh vegetables and herbs. Following a lunch prepared by the day’s bounty, guests will work up their appetite again through a waterfall hike, horseback ride or outrigger canoe excursion. To end the experience, the hotel will treat diners to a farmhouse dinner with wine pairings.
Taste of Place offerings will be available from October 2016 through October 2017 with varying start dates and pricing. Check out FS Magazine for a complete list of experiences and locations.
