One of France’s most beloved patisseries will be opening a Singapore location at the end of May. Angelina, a Parisian tearoom that has been a mainstay of the city for over a century, has long been known as a salon of “sophistication and indulgence,” serving famous guests such as Proust and Coco Chanel. In Singapore, this reputation will be maintained with offerings of seasonal desserts, traditional teas and savory dishes for breakfast and lunch.
Their signature delights include the Mont Blanc, a combination of meringue, light whipped cream and chestnut paste vermicelli, and African Hot Chocolate, a drink blended with three different cocoas from Niger, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire. Both are made using the confectionary’s 110-year-old secret recipe.
Brunch and snack items include classics like quiche Lorraine served with seasonal mesclun salad, semi-cooked duck foie gras with toasted brioche and fig chutney, and Astara Scottish smoked salmon with blinis and lemon and chive cream. Their lunch menu offers favorites such as the truffle ravioli with parmesan cream and rocket salad, pan-fried scallops with black venere rice in shellfish cream, and caviar linguine topped with creamy sauce.
The new Singapore location will be the latest in a spring of international openings which include major cities like Hong Kong, Dubai, Doha, Tokyo and Beijing. In the coming years the brand hopes to open up more locations in Europe and America.
