If you live in Scottsdale, chances are that you’ve probably passed by the Andaz hotel without even realizing it. That’s because the luxury property is tucked away behind Enclave at Borgata, hidden from plain sight. This perk alone is one of the many reasons why the newly-opened hotel will do well with travelers who value discretion and privacy.
Officially debuting today, Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa sits at the base of Camelback Mountain and is located just five minutes from Old Town. The property features 201 bungalow-style guestrooms decorated in bright colors, cultural patterns and folk art. All rooms boast bathrooms with skylights and extra spacious showers, plus terraces with Spanish-style banco seating.
At Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen guests can experience the use of plancha cooking techniques by Executive Chef Adam Sheff (formally of Park Hyatt New York). Working behind a glass box exhibition kitchen, Chef Sheff’s methods utilize traditional Sonoran-inspired flavors and local ingredients paired with urban culinary practices. The hotel also offers the Palo Verde Spa & Apothecary which features four indoor and three outdoor treatment rooms, eucalyptus steam rooms, a nail and hair salon and outdoor hydro therapy pools. Opening rates being at around $399 a night.
