The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has just about anything you could need for a great getaway, including activities for the kids like watermelon eating contests, zipline adventures and catch-and-release fishing derbies. For adults, they offer winery dinners, relaxing cabana rentals and a golf course. The expansive southwestern oasis sprawls across 65 acres in the Sonoran Desert overlooking the McDowell Mountains.
Boasting 649 guestrooms including 69 Fairmont Gold Rooms, two presidential suites and 119 casistas, the hotel also offers five restaurants and lounges, five heated pools, an on-site spa and two championship-level TPC golf courses. The Fairmont recently unveiled the refurbishment of more than 100 casitas, including all new chevron-printed ottomans, stone gas fireplaces, pillow top mattresses and southwestern décor. The spacious bathrooms features dual vanities, a soaker tub and walk-in shower, and Mexican Saltillo tile. Casitas also have their own private pools with whirlpools, and each come with a balcony or covered patio.
Each morning, the Fairmont Gold Lounge serves a deluxe continental breakfast, and in the afternoons it offers hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. After 7 p.m., guests can enjoy an array of complimentary desserts.
If you want to relax, book the 90-minute Purification Ritual at the Well & Being Spa. The detoxifying treatment starts off with an exfoliation and mud wrap in black silt clay designed to increase circulation and minimize cellulite. Following this, your face is cleansed with an oat polish and nourished with a hydrating aloe and prickly pear mask. After a scalp massage, guests will undergo a hair conditioning treatment with avocado oil, lime blossom and sweet blood orange. The therapy finishes off with a full body massage using a bergamot, citrus and aloe lotion that smells amazing.
Dinner at Bourbon Steak, a contemporary steakhouse by Michael Mina, is a must. Be sure to order the tuna tartare prepared tableside as well as the 20-ounce, 28-day dry aged bone-in Kansas City strip. Request a table on the patio for an unforgettable al fresco dining experience.
The AAA Five-Diamond property is also a great destination during the holidays. The resort celebrates with specialty menus, concerts, family-friendly activities and decadent brunches. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is also located just a short drive from Sedona, the Grand Canyon and Spring Training baseball. Rates begin at around $399 per night.
