Anyone who’s been to a Mastro’s Steakhouse knows that they deliver some of the best beef in town. We recently visited their Scottsdale location and were delighted to hear live music and see couples dancing in the piano bar lounge, a great sign of what’s to come. Our friendly servers got us started with the Mastro Classic Martini made with a generous pour of Belvedere Vodka and served with blue cheese olives. The Mastro Margarita is made up of a delicious combination of fresh lime juice, Don Julio Anejo tequila and Grand Marnier.
For dinner, we tried the delicious Alaskan halibut and the juicy 18-ounce bone-in Kansas City strip that melted in our mouths. Be sure to order up some à la carte sides to complement your meal. We recommend the steamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms and decadently-rich Alaskan king crab black truffle gnocchi. Sides, which also include sautéed sugar snap peas, creamed corn, colossal onion rings and lobster mashed potatoes, can also be ordered as a half portions.
For dessert we shared Mastro’s signature warm butter cake served with fresh whipped cream. Their service is pretty impeccable too. Our servers paid attention to every detail, from swapping out napkins to changing out cutlery and bringing frosty glasses to ensure our drinks were always chilled. Although we live on the east coast, this is one restaurant we’d be happy to make the trip across the country for.
