Scottsdale, Arizona is a golf lover’s paradise; but if you are traveling with your family, that can often be a challenge. Parents want to play a round of golf while the kids want to spend the entire day in the pool or participating in some fun activities. The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa knows just what parents and kids need to make everyone happy.
The property caters to children with a variety of daily activities that range from a Kids Club where guests ages four to 12 can sign up for games, arts and crafts and other activities (available for an hourly rate) or a pajama party where youngsters can watch dinner and a movie. There is even an Adventure Water Park complete with 110-foot-long waterslide, 900-foot lazy river and a Kierland FlowRider board sport simulator.
As for the adults, there are so many things to do on property that you never have to leave. From yoga classes to golf clinics and wine tastings to nightly sunset Scottish bagpipes, there is something for everyone. Whether you choose to do everything or nothing at all, the property offers the unique chance to relax and unwind.
The one-bedroom corner suite offers 1,281 square feet of space and comes complete with one king bed, two full bathrooms (one with luxury glass shower and separate tub), a pantry and full-size refrigerator and sink with granite countertops. (Note: There is no microwave in this suite). There are three entrances to this massive corner room—one from the main foyer, one into the master bedroom and a third into the pantry. If you are looking to have dinner with the family in the suite, order up some room service and set up dinner at the dining room table for four.
After dinner, head over to the living room mini bar and enjoy a nightcap on the private balcony that has two sliders opening up to a spacious area large enough to accommodate a dining table and lounge chairs.
When it comes to dining, the property’s on-site restaurant deseo (Spanish for “desire”) offers a delicious combination of flavors that takes traditional Latin American cuisine and gives it a European and American twist. For starters, don’t miss the shrimp chicharron made with pickled jalapenos or their famous “millionaire tacos” made with lobster meat, ahi tuna, Japanese Hamachi and yucca.
Whether you’re one of the hotel’s littlest guests or a more seasoned traveler, The Westin Kierland Resort has just about anything you could want on your Arizona vacation.
