Scottsdale’s Omni Resort & Spa in Montelucia is pretty excited about their new 4,000-square-foot Chef’s Kitchen and Herb Garden. Which makes sense, since it will enable Executive Chef Michael Cairns and Chef de Cuisine Tom Vykulil to offer guests the freshest of produce. Not only will the garden provide ingredients for the entire resort, including their flagship restaurant Prado, the new kitchen space will also be home to various epicurean events.
“We’re the only resort in Scottsdale to offer an indoor and outdoor kitchen and event space of this caliber and scale, allowing guests to not only indulge in the best and most flavorful ingredients grown locally, but also to fully enjoy the convivial and communal atmosphere created by Omni Scottsdale Resort,” says Managing Director, Paul Eckert.
The outdoor Herb Garden spans 2,500 square feet and is growing citrus trees, sage, rosemary, cilantro, basil, and a variety of exotic mints (including chocolate mint). It will be able to give a seasonal bounty, like summer squash, heirloom tomatoes, and root vegetables in the fall. Of course, considering there is gorgeous foliage everywhere, the space will also be open to small weddings, private dinners, charity events, and meetings.
In terms of activities, the Chef’s Kitchen and Herb Garden will offer hot yoga classes, meditation, wine and tapas tasting, cooking demos, and various cooking classes.
